Jackie Wade McGee, 86 of Vernon, Texas died on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, in Vernon, Texas.

Family visitation will be Friday, January 7, 2022 at 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home. There will be a graveside service at a later date.

Jackie was born Friday, September 20, 1935 in Monument, New Mexico, he was the son of the late Clyde Freeland  McGee and the late Johnie Merel Grimes McGee.  He married Frances  "Fran " Marilyn Maier on September 7, 1956 in Vernon, Texas, she preceded him in death April 4, 2014. He had lived in Vernon most of his life. He was a graduate of Northside High School. He was a truck driver and feed salesman and he worked at Vernon State Hospital. He  was a member of Santa Rosa Palomino Club and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Jackie is survived by his daughters, Dawn Wright and husband Jim of Granbury, TX., Starla Smith of Sunray, TX, and Jill Smithson and husband Curtis of Vernon, TX., his sister, Betty McLaughlin of Chillicothe, TX. six grandchildren Ally Graf, Hartlyn Smith, Brayson Smith, Erik Smithson, Zack Smithson and Jace Smithson. and one great-great granddaughter Scottlyn.
