Obituary

Jacob Wesley Cook, age 25, of Vernon, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on April 8, 2026, in his home. He was born November 2, 2000, to Carie “April” Cook and Donald Lynn Cook Jr. “Dee” in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Jacob was a vibrant soul who left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was known for his humor, his goofy personality, and his contagious laugh. He had a loving heart and a generous spirit. He would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation and had done so many times. He saw the good in everyone.

Jacob loved working with his hands. He had a natural talent for building things and fixing up houses. He also loved fishing at random ponds and being outdoors. He loved spending time at the pool during the summertime.

Though Jacob faced struggles in his life, he was actively working to turn things around and become the man he wanted to be. He rose to every obstacle and occasion that was placed in his path with great strength. He never stopped loving his family, and he had a special way of checking in on those he cared about, always making sure they were okay. His love for his family was constant and unwavering.

One of the greatest joys of Jacob’s life was his son, Avian, who was truly his pride and joy. He was such a good dad. He loved being a father, and his son will carry on his spirit in so many ways.

Jacob will be remembered for his big heart, his laughter, and the love he gave so freely. Though his time here was far too short, his life touched many, and his memory will live on in all who knew and loved him. Jacob’s family will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.
