James "Jim" Carrol Anthony, Jr. 64 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, in Vernon, Texas.

Graveside services will be held Friday June 20, 2025, at 10:00am, at the Amen Cemetery with Rev. Toby Castleberry officiating under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Jim was born Tuesday, August 16, 1960, in Vernon Texas. He was the son of the late James Carroll Anthony, Sr. and the late Linda Carol Anthony.
Jim graduated from Northside High School in 1980 and worked for Vernon College in the grounds/maintenance department for over twenty-five years. Jim loved the Texas Longhorns and attended many football games. He was also a huge Elvis fan and had fond memories of getting to watch Elvis in concert two times. Jim was devoted to exercise and weightlifting, and he loved living in the country north of Vernon and he loved 1970's awesome rock and roll. He was a member of Fargo Methodist Church.

Jim leaves behind his son, Tyler Anthony and wife Brenda and two grandchildren Aaron and Lydia Anthony, all of Vernon, Texas.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents James and Linda Anthony.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to Wilbarger Humane Society.
