Obituary

James Wylie Carrington, IV, 65 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, in Seymour, Texas.

A private family service will be scheduled at a later time.

James was born on December 17, 1959, to the late James (Jimmy) Carrington, III & Sue Herbert Carrington in Vernon, Texas.

James joined the US Marines shortly after graduating from Vernon High School. He spent much of his life in Oregon as a crane operator and construction worker. He moved back to Texas in 2007 and enjoyed reconnecting with friends and family. James was a man of simple pleasures with a deep love for the outdoors, a passion for working with his hands, and a special connection to his dogs and horses. He was a craftsman, always building something whether it was a piece of furniture or a small project. A lover of western movies, James found joy in the stories of the American frontier. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time in the outdoors, whether it was taking walks with his dogs or riding a horse chasing cattle.

James is survived by his children, Jeanna Schulz (Jerrod), Cary Joe Carrington (Carriann), Adrienne Beazley (Tim), and Delena Laiblin. Grandchildren, Katy Yarbro, Riley Schulz, Jackie Schulz, Marti Schulz, Jesse Carrington, Hadley Carrington, Jaxson Beazley, and Emmit DiStefano. Great grandchildren, Danny Yarbro, Maverick Yarbro, and Laramie West. His brothers, Chris Carrington & John Carrington and Aunt Beth Coker.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Wilbarger County Humane Society.
