James Matthew Garza, 58 of Vernon, Texas, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, in Vernon, Texas.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 11:00 am at First Assembly of God with Rev. Bob Diekmann and Mr. Steve Garza officiating.

James was born Wednesday, September 22, 1965, in Quanah, Texas. He was the son of the late George Garza and the late Mary Sue Guerra Garza. He married Carrie Hopkins on August 21, 2021, in Vernon, Texas. He worked at Wilbarger General Hospital and North Texas State Hospital. He loved UFC and martial arts. He loved being with his family and friends. James was very passionate about his family, and he loved his family very much. He always put them first.

James is survived by his wife, Carrie Garza of the home; two sons Khristian Garza (Laryssa White) and Allen Belcher; three daughters, Logan Reyes (Diego), Ariana Garza and Samantha Belcher, and three brothers, Pete Garza, Bennie Garza and Timothy Hawkins. James also left behind two grandsons, Jordyn Reyes and Matthew Garza.

James is preceded in death by his parents, George & Mary Garza, and his sister, Linda Garza.
