James L Pilcher, 78 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 5, 2021 at  11:00am at the Western Trail Cowboy Church. Burial will follow at the Wilbarger Memorial Park with Rev. Ron Fox and Rev. Luke Morrison officiating under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

James was born Friday, July 30, 1943 in Saint Jo, Texas. to the late Richard Lester Pilcher and the late Alice Hall Pilcher. James was a graduate from Chillicothe Texas, James married Ann Butler on October 18, 1962 in Chillicothe Texas, before moving to Vernon in 1963. Ann passed away on July 10, 2008.  James was a Loan Officer with the Waggoner National Bank for many years, James was associated with many civic groups in Vernon including the Vernon Jaycees, Lions Club, Crime Stoppers and Vernon Chamber of Commerce. James was a member of the Western Trail Cowboy Church.

James is survived by two sons, David Pilcher and Mark Pilcher  both of Vernon, TX, three brothers, Richard Pilcher of Corsicana, TX, Roger Pilcher of Vernon, TX and Joe Pilcher of Shreveport, LA; four grandchildren, Ashley Ann, Tori Beth, Xiomara, Maurissa.

James is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Alice Pilcher, his wife Ann Pilcher, one sister Aline Pilcher Shults and infant son Gregory James Pilcher.

Visitation will be held Monday from 6-7pm at the Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorial can be made to the Western Trail Cowboy Church, American Cancer Society or the Wilbarger Humane Society.
