Jenell Coats, 71 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be scheduled at a later date.

Jenell was born Tuesday, June 10, 1952, in Quanah, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Orban Rushing and the late Laverne Ballard Rushing. She married Mike Coats on January 16, 1993, in Phoenix, Arizona. Mike passed away in 2008.  Jenell worked at Helen Farabee Regional MHMR Center. She loved to dance, and she loved to sew.  She also loved her family very much.

Jenell is survived by her son, Kevin Lee & wife Edna of Vernon, Texas; four grandchildren, Kevin Orban Lee of Brownfield, Texas, Reece Killingsworth of Mansfield, Texas, Angel Dickinson of Claremore, Oklahoma, and Ashton Dickinson of Columbia, Georgia;  one brother, Bruce Rushing of Olney, Texas, and three sisters, Renda Berry of Durant, Oklahoma, Betty Collins of Mineral Wells, Texas and Pam Houck of Vernon, Texas.

Jenell is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, G. H. Rushing and Glen Rushing, and one sister, Kathie Bucchi.
