Jerry Box, 85 of Vernon, Texas, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, in Vernon, Texas.

Visitation is Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Jerry was born Wednesday, March 2, 1938, in Electra, Texas. He was the son of the late C. B. Box and the late Gladys Keenan Box. He married Patsy Richardson on June 26, 1963,in Temple, Texas. Jerry served in the U.S. Army from 1960 – 1963. He was a member of the Lions Clubs International since 1979. He was a past President for the Vernon Lions Club, and he served as Secretary-Treasurer for many years. He was awarded the Lion of the Year Award twice, the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, and the Jack Wiech Fellowship Award from Texas Lions Camp. Jerry also served on the Vernon City Council for ten years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Patsy Box of the home; one son, Tony Box of Vernon, Texas, and two daughters, Judy Russell of Faxon, Oklahoma, and Teri Etherton of Wichita Falls, Texas. Jerry also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
