In Loving Memory of Jimmie Beth Bearden

Beth passed peacefully from this life, Saturday, January 25th, 2025.

Beth was born in Vernon, Texas on June 25, 1939, to Jimmie and Wilbur Thrash.  She had one sister, Wilda Joy Thrash (Holliday). The two sisters had adventures and fun and looked out for one another.  She spoke about one "adventure" that she and her sister, Wilda, giggled and laughed about.  Whenever their mom, Jimmie Thrash, left for work, she would tell the girls to "behave".  One day Mom came home to see two girls with a drastic change in hair color.  The girls had colored their hair black and left quite a mess.  More supervision was in order. They said they were inspired by a popular movie star at the time.

After graduating from Vernon High School, she chose Abilene Christian College in Abilene, Texas, studying Early Childhood Education.  After graduating from college, her first teaching job was in Denver, Colorado.  She admired the beauty of the Colorado mountains and had fond memories of her summer family camping trips.

Beth taught school children in Japan in the 1960's. She was impressed with the manners of the children and how polite they were.  On days off she toured areas of Japan and was amazed at the beauty of the landscape.

Beth married Ben Bearden in October of 2002.  Ben dazzled Beth with beautiful bouquets of red roses on a regular basis. A dozen roses were always on display in their home in honor of his love for her.

A favorite "hang out" was with friends at the Senior Center.  Sharing Potlucks, card games, and special events keep Beth and Ben busy and happy enjoying a fun and active life.  Another favorite activity for her was learning to crochet.  She created many beautiful Afghan's.  Beth chose to learn to crochet to keep herself busy.   She loved to give them away to friends and family.

As her health declined, her family kept a watchful eye on her, ensuring all her needs were provided. Our family was blessed with her caring love and support.  We love you dearly Beth!

Graveside services will be Saturday February 8, 2024 at 10:00am at the Eastview Cemetery under the direction Sullivan Funeral Home.
