Joe Hennessee, 74 of Vernon, Texas passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 10:00 am at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thomas A. Keith and the Rev. Jim Aveni officiating. Interment will be at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Joe was born Sunday, September 19, 1948, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late Glenn T Hennessee and Virginia Faye Tunnell. Joe was a Sergeant in the Marine Corp. He served in Vietnam where he was awarded the Purple Heart for being wounded in combat. Joe married Vickie Jobe on September 2, 1972, in Vernon, Tx. He graduated from Texas Woman's University in Denton, Tx, with his Master's Degree. He was a retired Principal of AFP Campus with Vernon ISD. He enjoyed gardening, going to the casino, fishing with his nephews in younger years, and most importantly spending time with his family and the visits from his grandchildren and great-grandson. He attended Grace Episcopal Church in Vernon, Tx.
Joe is survived by his wife Vickie, of the home. One son, Steve Hennessee and husband Rev. Thomas A Keith of Vernon, Tx. One daughter, Jennifer Wilkinson and husband Orville Wilkinson, Jr, of Vernon, Tx. Grandchildren, Keaton and Alyssa Hennessee of Lawton, Ok., Jordyn Wilkinson and Stran Smith of Wichita Falls, Tx., Harlie Wilkinson of Vernon, Tx., and Ethan Wilkinson of Vernon, Tx. One great-grandson, Kaesen Hennessee of Vernon, Tx. Joe is also survived by brother William Lloyd Hennessee, of Killeen, Tx., Sisters Clara Hall and husband Donald of Vernon, Tx., Imogene Labeth and husband Keith, of Aubrey, Tx. He was preceded in death by brothers Tom, Jimmy, Alec, and Claude Hennessee and sisters Sue Boatenhamer and Mary Taylor.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
Memorials can be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Vernon.
