John Robert Dennis of Vernon Texas passed away on Monday December 4, 2023

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 11, 2023, at 11:00 am at Sullivan Funeral Home with Rev. Brown officiating.  Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

John R. Dennis was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother uncle, cousin and friend. John was born March 7, 1951 to Henry Dennis, Sr. and Johnnie Mae Clement Dennis. John was married to Joyce Lynn Smith Dennis for more than forty-eight years.

John leaves behind his wife Joyce, children Christopher Robert Dennis, Lamont Smith, Christina Smith. Grandsons Christopher Robert Dennis, Jr., Trae Dennis, Trevaul Mitchell, Timothy Smith, granddaughters Trevana Dennis, Misty Walker, Christina Ray and Christiana Dennis along with several great grandchildren. John leaves behind several brothers and sisters, Henry, Jr., Benny, Jean and Linda.

John is preceded in death by his parents Henry, Sr. and Johnnie Mae, brothers Arnell, M.C., Johnny Lee, Joe Dean, Agnes. Sisters Ruby, Delia, and Brenda.

John attended and was baptized at an early age at the Wood Steet Church of Christ.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 11, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
