John "Butch" Edward McLean, Jr., 82 of Vernon, Texas died on Friday, December 2, 2022, in Vernon, Texas.

Butch was born Thursday, October 3, 1940 in Vernon, Texas, He was the son of the late John McLean and the late Mary Irene Richie McLean. He married Laura Lambeth in Vernon on May 3, 1960. Butch was retired.  He loved his 1969 Camaro and going to car shows. He also enjoyed taking care of wild turkeys and deer, and watching old westerns.  He rebuilt windmills and old clocks. He was a collector of picket knives, pocket watches, barometers, and other old things. Butch worked until he was eighty years old.

Butch is survived by his wife, Laura of the home; his son, John Mark McLean & wife Michelle of Vernon, Texas; one daughter, Laurie Williams & husband Steve of Vernon, Texas.

Butch is preceded in death by his parents.
