Obituary

John Sanchez, Jr., 69 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Father Phill Petta officiating.

John was born Monday, September 3, 1956, in Cameron, Texas. He was the son of John Sanchez, Sr. and the late Carmen Mendoza Sanchez. He married Margaret Castro in 1974 in Ralls, Texas. He was a Jack of all trades with knowledge in car mechanics, welding, plumbing, and working on appliances. He loved being outside, and he also enjoyed watching WWE. He was a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church.

John is survived by his wife, Margaret Sanchez of the home, his father, Juan Sanchez, six children, Augustine Sanchez (Tianna) of Lubbock, TX, Margaret Cantu of El Paso, TX, Juanita Sanchez of Vernon, TX, John Sanchez, III (Joe Ann Yarbarough) of Vernon, TX, Adrian Sanchez (Jordan) of Vernon, TX, and Selena Sanchez (Benito Monjaras) of Vernon, TX, nineteen grandchildren, Elijah Sanchez, Nicolas Sanchez, Kayla Moreno, Austin Moreno, Angel Olivas, Junior Olivas, Aaron Olivas, Andrew Shepherd, Chaz Smith, Darion Smith, Delias Smith, Deon Burnell, Nyneave Yarbarough, Alexandre Sanchez, Gavin Sanchez, Natalie Sanchez, Ashton Sanchez, Brianna Monjaras, and Haven Monjaras. John also leaves behind eleven siblings, Adalita Berumen of Temple, TX, Emma Talamantez of Ralls, TX, Carmen Canales (Tony) of Plainview, TX, Lucia Castillo (Juan) of Glenn Heights, TX, Domingo Sanchez of Crosbyton, TX, Sylvia Holguin (Able) of Lubbock, TX, Luis Sanchez (Patricia) of Ralls, TX Elena Bryand ( Danny) of Lubbock, TX, Ricky Sanchez of Ralls, TX, Linda Sanchez of Salem, OR and Janie Cantu (Richard) of Ralls, TX, his mother-in-law, Margarita Huerta Castro, and numerous great grandchildren.

John is preceded in death by his mother, Carmen Sanchez, his grandson Anthony Moreno, his granddaughter, Abigail Zain, his father-in-law, Inocente Castro, his brothers-in-law, Angel Castro, and Arturo Castro, and his sister-in-law, Guadalupe Castro.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Sullivan Funeral Home from 10:00 am until funeral services begin.

Memorials can be made to Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church, Hospice of Wichita Falls , Angels Care Home Health, or Texas Oncology.
