Jose Hernandez Lopez, 71 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in Vernon, Texas.

Mass funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 10:00 am at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church with Father Phil Petta officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Jose born Sunday, December 13, 1953, in Villa Union, Mexico. He was the son of the late Ignacio Lopez and the late Elvira Hernandez Lopez. He worked for Wright Brand Foods and then later for Bar S Foods. He loved to be outdoors. He also enjoyed yard work and helping others. He was a member of Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church.

Jose is survived by his children and grandchildren, Melenda & Juan Vazquez and Naveh & Jacob, Robert & Rosie Leija & family, MaryAnn & Carlos Perez and Gabriela Perez, Sammy Lopez, John Garcia & Nevaeh, Frankie Garcia and Robert & Gianna, Olivia Perez & Wyatt, Manuela Urista & Allen and Chelsea, Abel Urista and Sabrina & Jordan, Octavian Gonzalez & Onyx, Jessie Lopez & family, JoAnn & Richie Clemente and Richie Jr., Anna & Seth Cummingham and Niya & Mateo, Maria & Cale Mayden, Jose & Veronica Lopez and James, Janiece & Thalia, and Mario Vasquez, his stepsons, Domingo Vasquez and Jerry Vasquez, his brothers, Ignacio & Margaret Lopez & family, Pedro & Angie Lopez & family, and Mario & Mary Hernandez & family, and wife, Guadalupe Vasquez.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents, Ignacio & Elvira Lopez.

Rosary will be Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at 6:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel.
