Joseph Albert Boykin, born February 24, 1952 in Lubbock, and from Ft. Worth, Texas and Fort Smith, Arkansas, died Saturday, June 21, 2025. After many years of surviving heart disease, Joe went to his Heavenly Father, God, to dwell with Him eternally.

Joe spent his early years in Catholic school and on a farm, where he cared for a variety of farm animals, which he thoroughly enjoyed, including Rosco and Champ, beagles given to the family by Joe's favorite grandpa, Grandpa Boykin, Ol Jersey, the milk cow, Thumper, the rescued rabbit, and Buck, the stallion, all considered to be part of the Boykin family.

Joe attended community college which later became part of the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith where he earned an Associate's Degree in Journalism. He was an avid lifelong follower of University of Texas Longhorn football which he considered superior especially due to leadership of Darrell Royal, and Joe could quote Longhorn statistics from the team's inception.

For over a decade, Joe travelled the United States with a Biblical Research and Teaching Ministry as an ambassador for Christ. Joe taught the integrity of God's Word and how to be born again of God's spirit. Joe spent years under shepherding believers in their new life in Christ. They could count on Joe for help and support to grow in believing and demonstrating God's Word in their lives.

Joe became a chef in his profession, working in hotels and establishments in Arlington, Texas. Joe's sense of humor, cooking expertise, and enjoyment being with people brought others so much joy and fun in fellowship that there is no denying there is no one else like Joe, and he will be sorely missed until we all meet again.

Joe is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Brogan of Fort Smith and Austin: his father, John R. Boykin of San Angelo; and nephew, David Joseph Boykin of Austin, Texas.

Joe is survived by his twin brother, John Boykin, wife Marie, and niece, Emily; brother, James Boykin, wife Jackie, and nephews, Andrew and Tyler, wife Anna, and grand-nephews, Johnston and Brodie; brother Patrick Boykin, wife Kathryn, nephew Chase, and niece, Taylor, all of Austin, Texas.

Step-daughter, Alicia Robinson, husband James, and step-grandchildren, Lauren of the University of Texas Longhorn Band, and Evan of Mansfield High School, all of Mansfield, Texas.

Brother and sister-in-law, David and Dora Darnell of Lake Livingston; and Sylvia Darnell Caffery, Joe's long time friend, of Henrietta, Texas.

All prayers and love on behalf of Joe have been so helpful and comforting, we thank each person beyond words for all their kindness toward our beloved Joe. We keep our eyes on the Hope of Jesus Christ return when we shall see Christ, and be reunited with one another and be together with the Lord.

A memorial will be held for Joe Boykin by Alicia and James Robinson in Mansfield, Texas by announcements to be sent out.
