Juan Moreno Gomez, Jr., 73 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 23, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnathan Ochoa officiating.  Interment will be in Quanah Memorial Park in Quanah, Texas under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Juan was born Monday, September 12, 1949 in La Junta, Colorado.  He was the son of the late Juan Gomez, Sr. and the late Simona Moreno Gomez. He married Otilia Quintanilla Rojas in 2010 in Vernon, Texas.  Juan loved to watch wrestling and football, especially the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  He enjoyed being outside, doing yard work, and he enjoyed music. Juan retired from Solvay after twenty-five years.

Juan is survived by his wife, Otilia Rojas of the home; son, Leroy Gomez & wife Lupe of Wichita Falls, Texas; daughters, Tonya Escobedo & husband Jose of Lindale, Georgia and Victoria Murillo of Wichita Falls, Texas; brothers, Pedro Gomez and Robert Gomez; sisters, Ruth Florez and Margaret Villarreal; grandchildren Gabriel Gomez, Alyssa Gomez, Izaak Gomez, Christian Garcia, Adriyanna Gomez, Faye Arumugam, Michael Arumugam, Rafael Sanchez, Marcus Sanchez, Aaliyah Gomez, Shianna Escobedo, Stephanie Escobedo, and Sara Escobedo.  Juan will be missed by his nieces and nephews.

Juan is preceded in death by his parents, Juan Gomez, Sr. and Simona Moreno Gomez, his sisters, Anita Santos Garza and Lupe Ramirez, and brothers, Martin Gomez, Sammy Gomez, Jose Gomez, and Manuel Gomez.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 22, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
