Judy Hafer Koch, 86 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 30, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Trent Kieschnick officiating. Burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Judy was born on May 3, 1939, in Vernon, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Tommie Hafer and the late Dorrel Douglas Killingsworth Hafer. She married Walter Koch on October 17, 1959, in Vernon, Texas. Judy graduated from Midwestern State University with a degree in elementary education and a master's degree in counseling. She taught for twenty-two years at Shive Elementary. Judy loved watching the Kansas City Chiefs and OU football. She enjoyed trips to Colorado and going hunting and fishing. Above all, Judy loved spending time with family.

Judy is survived by her children, Donna Johnson & husband Charles, Ricky Koch & wife Sherri, and Dianne Koch all of Vernon, Texas, and her brother, Douglas Hafer & wife Tammie of Vernon, Texas. Judy also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Stephen Johnson, Brandon Johnson & wife Meredith, Tyler Koch & wife Marlee, Dillon Koch & wife Amy, Bryce Koch, Brooklyn Koch, and Cheryl Kelley & husband Randy, and six great grandchildren, Collins Johnson, Oaklynn Koch, Maevis Koch, Bray Koch, Taylor Kelley, and Aspen Kelley.

Judy is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Koch and her parents, Tommie & Dorrel Hafer.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
