Judy Russell, 60, passed away on Monday, October 27, at her home in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Judy was born June 22, 1965, in Pampa, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Jerry Box and Patricia (Patsy) Richardson Box. She married Stephen Russell on May 21, 2007, in Las Vegas.

Judy attended school in Vernon, Texas and really enjoyed theater arts. She was the first recipient of the Vernon College Theater Ensemble Memorial Scholarship started by Kay Cook at then Vernon Regional Junior College. She loved all aspects of theater but preferred to be behind the scenes doing set design and lighting. Judy had several jobs while in Vernon, including Alco, Brantley Helicopter, Inc., Bealls, the Herring National Bank, and Family Pharmacy.

Judy was somewhat of a child at heart whose inner beauty shone through. She delighted in collecting all kinds of Goofy (the cartoon) and Lego merchandise.

Judy wished that no formal services be held in her honor, but there will be a gathering for family and friends at a later date.

Judy is survived by her husband of the home, her mother Patsy, her sister Teri Etherton and husband Andy, her brother Tony Box and wife Crystal, her Aunt Stephanie Wilkerson, and nephews Brett, Christian and niece Stormie, and by her stepchildren who she loved as her own, Matthan Russell and wife Kelly, Chelsea Lopez and husband Jacob, Sean Russell and wife Kayla, and four grandchildren.

Judy asked that in lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Vernon College Theater Ensemble Memorial Scholarship through Vernon College.
