Kathryn Marie Harris, 92 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025, in Crowell, Texas.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at First Baptist Church at 10:30 am with Mr. Mike Klappenbach officiating. Burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Kathryn was born on Monday, December 12, 1932, in Dallas, Texas. She was the daughter of the late J. Lloyd Hill and the late Hester Garrison Hill. Kathryn married her High School sweetheart, R.C. Harris, on January 28, 1953, in Vernon, Texas. They were married sixty-nine years. She graduated from Vernon High School and went on to graduate from TCU with a B.S Degree with a major in Elementary Education. She taught for over thirty years for Fort Worth ISD from 1953 to 1955, Northside ISD from 1963 to 1966, and then started teaching for Vernon ISD in 1966. She was a member of the Yamparika Club, the 1945 Book Club, Meals on Wheels, and the Ladies Golf Association at Hill Crest Country Club. Kathryn enjoyed playing Bunco with her friends. She was also a member of Central Christian Church.

Kathryn is survived by three sons, John Harris & wife Jan of Lubbock, Texas, David Harris & wife Debbie of Dobbs Ferry, New York, and Pat Harris of Vernon, Texas, and six grandchildren, Hunter Harris & wife Ashley, Keaton Harris, Tanner Harris, Bolton Harris & husband Blaz, Isla Harris, and Giana Harris.  She also leaves behind two great grandsons, Parker and Bennett.

Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband, R.C. Harris, her parents J. Lloyd & Hester Hill, and her brother, Dan Hill.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Vernon, the Carnegie Library, or the Red River Valley Museum.
