Lajuana Sue Streit, 81 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thomas Keith officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Lajuana was born Monday, April 26, 1943, in Quanah, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Sam A. Byers and the late Ruby L. Berry Byers. She married Walter "Buddy" Streit, Jr. on July 30, 1966, in Vernon, Texas. Lajuana grew up in Quanah and Chillicothe. She was a graduate of Vernon High School where she played basketball. She worked at the A&W Root Beer Stand, and she also worked at Piggly Wiggly. Then she operated an at home babysitting service where she loved and cared for the children as her own. She loved watching them grow and was a big supporter in their lives. She loved the Vernon Lions, and she was a member of the VHS Band Boosters and VFD Ladies Auxiliary. She loved animals. Lajuana also loved being a wife and mother. She never missed events. She was the family caregiver and loved them fiercely. She was a model daughter to her parents and was a second mom to all of Sue Ann's friends. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.

Lajuana is survived by her daughter, Sue Ann Streit of Vernon, Texas, and her brother, Raymond Byers of Greenville, Texas.

Lajuana is preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Streit on March 20, 2019, her brother, Sammy Byers, and her sisters, Glenda Dickerson, Robbie Chism and Janelle Davis.

Visitation will be Monday, April 7, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to the Wilbarger Humane Society .
