Larry Dan Patton, 80, of Vernon, Texas passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, in Crowell, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Monday August 17, 2026, at 10:00am at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Toby Castleberry officiating. Burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park, under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Larry was born Saturday, October 6, 1945, in Vernon, Texas to the late Monty Patton and the late Overa Reese Patton. Larry married Linda McCubbin, September 1, 1972, in Vernon, Texas. Larry was a graduate of Oklaunion High School, Class of 1965. Larry served in the Army from 1966-1969, including a tour in Germany. Larry started his work career with Merchant Motor Freight in Vernon, Texas, he then later began working for Central Fright Lines. After Larry retired, he worked for the City of Vernon in the Street Department, not one to sit still Larry began his second retirement job with Rolling Plains in Wichita Falls, Texas. Larry is survived by his wife Linda Patton of the home, one son, Nick Patton of Dallas, Texas, one grandson Luke D. Patton, and his sister, Sally Stevens of Oklahoma City, OK.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents Monty and Overa Patton, and two sisters Helen Dawn Schuman and Lou Ella Pippen

The family will receive family and friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Sullivan Funeral Home, 1801 Houston St., Vernon, Texas.
