Larry Woods, 68 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2024, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 11:00 am at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Norris Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Larry was born Tuesday, June 5, 1956, in Vernon, Texas. He was the son of the late Jack "Bud" Alexander and the late Pearl Rogers Woods. He married Denise Totten on August 17, 1979, in Vernon, Texas. Larry was a member of the National Guard for twelve years. He worked for the City of Vernon for eight years, TxDot for seventeen years, and for Vernon ISD. He never met a stranger, and he loved talking a lot about highways. Larry enjoyed working outside. He loved his family and was a very faithful man.

Larry is survived by his wife, Denise Woods of the home; two daughters, Breanna Woods  and Deanna Woods both of Vernon, Texas; his God son, Tadarian Johnson of Vernon, Texas; three brothers, Sammy Swan of Vernon, Texas, Bobby Irvin of Dallas, Texas and Jerry Irvin of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Linda Thomas of Hope, Arkansas and Terri Irvin of Dallas, Texas; his broth-in-law, Kenny Totten of Vernon, Texas, and his sister-in-law, Katherine Demps of Vernon, Texas.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Helen Brannon.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
