Marel Lynn (Elling) Fry, age 79, passed away Friday, August 20, 2021 in Vernon, Texas.

She was born June 23, 1942 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Carl Emmert Elling and Florence (Hawthorne) Elling of Cache, Oklahoma.  In school she was a member of 4-H and FFA, graduating from Cache High School then went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in Home Economics. Her work career consisted of social services helping families and teaching which included schools in Oklahoma and Texas instructing courses in home economics and computer science. She was a gifted seamstress and quilter, a dedicated member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and loved nature.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William 'Bill' Patrick Fry of Vernon; her son Don Fry and wife Tanya (Majors) Fry of Lake Jackson; her daughter Lydia (Fry) Turner and husband Joe Turner of Angleton; her siblings Karen Moreno, Ardith Denney and Cindy Brown; her granddaughters Heidi (Fry) Reams, Alyssa (Gentry) Campbell, and great granddaughter Finley Campbell.

In addition to her parents, Marel Lynn was preceded in death by her brother Henry 'Hank' Elling.
