Margarita V. Lopez, 73, of Vernon, Texas passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Saturday January 10, 2026, at 10:00am at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Phil Petta officiating, burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Margarita was born on Tuesday, March 4, 1952, in Rosebud, Texas to the late Guadalupe Valverde, Sr. and the late Francisca Ramirez Valverde. Margarita married Ignacio Lopez on March 7, 1969. Margarita worked for Vernon Independent School District in the cafeteria for more than fifteen years and she also worked for the Vernon Boys and Girls Club. But most of all Margarita loved her family and her church. Margarita and her family are members of the Holy Family Catholic Church.

Margarita leaves behind her husband Ignacio Lopez, her children Elvira Campbell and husband Aaron of Iowa Park, Texas, Leticia Lopez of Vernon Texas, Soila Lora and husband Jesus of Vernon, Texas and Doralicia Martinez of Crowell, Texas, her grandchildren Monica, Toni, Antonio, Brandon, Adriana, Ana, Mario, Tatiana, Julio, Jessica, Maria, Jason, Blanca, Mykael, Caiden and Paisley along with twenty one great grandchildren.

Margarita is proceeded in death by her parents Guadalupe and Francisca Valverde, her sisters Carlotta Ranjel and Ernestina DeLosSantos, and one brother Guadalupe Valverde, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00-7:00pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
