Maria Aranda Lujan, 85 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 9, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Luke Morrison officiating. Interment will be in Crowell Cemetery in Crowell, Texas under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Maria was born Sunday, October 10, 1937 in Tipton, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Bruno Aranda and the late Claudia Soto Aranda. She married Cipriano Lujan on May 11, 1961 in Crowell, Texas. Maria enjoyed gardening, quilting, and shopping.  She loved her grandchildren. She was a member of New Life Baptist Church.

Maria is survived by her husband, Cipriano Lujan; son, Phillip Lujan & wife Tirzah of Lakeside City, Texas; daughters, Connie Soliz of Vernon, Texas and Melinda Howell & husband Brent of Vernon, Texas; grandchildren, Brandy Fraticelli, Dustin Fraticelli, Logan Swaim, Jake Lujan, Gracie Lujan, Connor Swaim, and Jaxon Swaim; great grandchildren, Jakob and Isaiah; sisters, Naomi Garcia, Ruth Hickey, and Claudia Arriaga.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents, Bruno & Claudia Aranda; twin brother, Joseph; sisters, Elena Tigerina and Hope Quintero; brothers, Edward Aranda, Arthur Aranda, and Henry Aranda.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral home.
