Maria Tariga Tolentino, 105 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2022, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Monday March 7, 2022 at 3:00pm at the Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Phil Petta officiating. Burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Maria was born Wednesday, April 12, 1916 in Quezon Philippines to the late Emiliano Tariga and the late Eugenia Evangelista. Maria married Alvaro Tolentino in 1934.  Alvaro passed away in 1974 in the Philippines. Maria was a homemaker and a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church.

Maria is survived by her two sons, Ted Tolentino and Dr. Reynaldo Tolentino and wife Cindy of Vernon, TX  three daughters, Linda Boyea of Tucson, AZ, Nona Rubiano of Frisco, TX and Daisy Canivel and husband Nick of Wichita Falls, TX. Maria is also survived by ten grandchildren, Jay Tolentino of Tipton, OK. Joy Ferrell and husband Jory of Apache, OK. Renee Blakeney and husband Kyle of San Antonio, TX.  Kevin Tolentino of Houston, TX. Glen Tolentino and wife Kelli of Edmond, OK. Eric Rillorta of Washington DC. Chris Rubiano and wife Amy of Germany, Eleanor Rubiano of Frisco, TX, Randy Canivel and wife Lexi of Flower Mound, TX. and Magan Dunbar and husband Carter of Fort Worth, TX. along with numerous great and great great grandchildren.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents Emiliano and Eugenia Tariga, her husband Alvaro Tolentino and one grandson Oliver Tolentino.

Rosary will be held on Sunday at 5:30pm at the Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel, visitation will follow beginning at 6pm.

Memorials can be made to the Wilbarger General Hospital Auxiliary or to the Holy Family Catholic Church.
