Mary Carleen Harris Fowler was born February 16, 1937, at Medicine Mounds, Texas. She was the daughter of James E. and Audrey Lawler Harris.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 10:00am at the Big Valley Cemetery, under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Carleen was educated in the schools of El Dorado, Arkansas and earned a BSE degree from Henderson University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She was elected President of the Henderson class of 1959.
Carleen married Charles Fowler in the First Presbyterian Church in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, August 15, 1959. She taught in the schools of Arkansas before moving to Amarillo, Tx in 1967. She and Mr. Fowler moved to Quanah, Texas in 1972 where they owned and operated Fowler Pharmacy.
She was an Elder of the Presbyterian Church and co-founder of "Kid Connection" in Quanah. Carleen and Charles farmed and ranched for many years together in Medicine Mounds, Texas.
Carleen is survived by her husband, Charles Fowler of Waco, children -Kathleen Fowler of Quanah, Melinda Fowler Brinkley and husband, Allen Brinkley, of Houston, grandchildren Sean Ditmore of Quanah, Evan Ditmore and wife, Kye Ditmore, of Waco, Mikey Ditmore of Lubbock and Bryce Brinkley and wife, Mary Brinkley, of Houston, and great-grandchildren Charlotte Ditmore of Waco and Emma Brinkley of Houston.
Memorials, in her honor, may be made to the Presbyterian Children's Homes and Services, PCHAS, 5920 W. William Cannon Drive, Bldg. 3, Suite 100, Austin, TX 78749.
