Mary Elizabeth Jones, 94 of Vernon, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 11:00 am at First Methodist Church in Vernon, Texas, with Dr. Randy Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Born Tuesday, October 15, 1929, in Crowell, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Glenn Roberts and the late Beulah Burks Roberts. She married A. J. Jones on July 12, 1947, in Vernon, Texas. A.J. passed away July 16, 1996. Mary was a graduate of Vernon High School. She was a member of the Northside PTA, 4H, Pease River Quilters Guild, and Prayers & Squares Quilt Group. She was a past member of TEEA. Mary was also a member of Fargo Methodist Church where she served on numerous church committees.

Mary is survived by one son, Charlie Jones & wife Kim of Vernon, Texas; two daughters, Kay Jones Fullerton & husband J.R. of Vernon, Texas, and Betty Jones Williams of Lubbock, Texas. Mary also leaves behind twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her son, Alan Ray "Bo" Jones; her daughter, Carol Jones Simonton; two sons-in-law, Ted Williams and Steve Simonton; two daughters-in-law, Linda Jean Sellers Jones and Kara Kinsey Jones; her brother, Bob Roberts, and her grandson-in-law, Steve Fleming.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to Fargo Methodist Church or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
