Mary Garcia Montez, 84 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 11:00 am at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ric Rosalez officiating.

Mary was born Friday, March 24, 1939 in Rosebud, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Nestor Garcia and the late Rosa Valverde Garcia. Mary worked in Dietary Services at nursing homes for more than thirty years. She enjoyed working word puzzles, coloring, and sewing.  She also enjoyed being outside, listening to music, and she loved to cook. She was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.  Mary always made people laugh, and she adored her grandkids.

Mary is survived by her son, Tracy Montez of Vernon, Texas; her daughter, Jessica Montez & husband Daniel of Wichita Falls, Texas; five grandchildren, Bailey Montez & wife Marisa of Snyder, Texas, Kara Rosa & husband Alberto of Electra, Texas, Vanessa Benavides of Wichita Falls, Texas, Bryce Corrales of Abilene, Texas, and Daniel Corrales, III of Vernon, Texas; eight great grandchildren, James, Maddilyn, Addison, Ellianna, Aliza, Zayn, Ariella, and Kaeli, and one brother, Lucino Garcia of Temple, Texas.  Mary also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Nestor and Rosa Garcia; her daughter, Juanita Garcia, and eight brothers, Gonzalo Garcia, Nick Garcia, Magdalino Garcia, Liandro Garcia, Antonio Garcia, Lupe Garcia, Ennis Garcia, and Santiago Garcia.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to a charity of choice.
