Mary Lynn
Robertson
Nov 18, 1940 — Jan 13, 2023
Mary Lynn McNairy Robertson, 82, went to heaven on January 13, 2023.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 10:00 am Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Mary was born on November 18, 1940 in Vernon to M.V. and Allene Belle McNairy. Mary lived in Wilbarger County all her life. She grew up in the Lockett community and graduated from Lockett High School in 1959.
Mary was married 34 years to Richard Newell and they had three children, Lisa Kay Newell of Vernon, Mike and wife Marion Newell of Vernon, and James and wife Lisa Jean Newell of Canton, Oklahoma.
Mary raised her children on the family farm where she was a homemaker and loved playing the piano. Mary loved God, her family, her Central Christian Church, playing dominoes, and doing arts and crafts. She was an accomplished seamstress and an excellent baker-her specialty was homemade meringue pies.
After raising her children, Mary worked at and retired from NTSH food service.
Mary later married Ronnie Robertson and together they enjoyed traveling and gardening.
Mary was a fighter. She was a breast cancer survivor. She gracefully battled Parkinson's disease for the last 20 years of her life. She was a resident of Advanced Care and Rehab Center where she played the piano often for the residents and could play almost anything from memory. She enjoyed playing dominoes and doing arts and crafts, often drawing pictures and making cards for others.
In addition to her three children, Mary has seven grandchildren: Lyndsey (Craig) Robinson of Hollis, OK, Alison Payne of Vernon, Lauren (Shawn) Dodd of Vernon, Callie Davis of Altus, Elizabeth (Cody) Noggler of Dumas, Caleb Newell of Goodwell, OK, and Sarah Newell of Archer City, TX.
Mary also has 12 great-grandchildren: Tynslie, Thatcher, Coltier, Lexington, Korbyn, Cole, Clyde, Lucy Kay, Creed, Kwhi, Krosby, and Henry. Mary has one niece, Cecilia Anne Tandy and 3 nephews, Bobby, Bill, and Danny McNairy, who are also very special to her.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, brother Bob McNairy, one niece Susan Martinez, and one nephew Mark McNairy.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
As a breast cancer survivor, Mary was an avid supporter and participant of the Wilbarger County Relay of Life. If family and friends are so inclined, memorials can be made in Mary's name to that organization.
