Mary Elizabeth Scott entered the presence of her savior Jesus Christ on February 27, 2025 in Crowell Texas.

Graveside services will be held Monday March 3, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Wilbarger Memorial Park with Mr. Mike Klappenbach officiating under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Mary was born in Ada Oklahoma to the late Luther Gray Chilcoat and the late Mary Angiline York Chilcoat on Thursday December 28, 1933. She was the baby of four sisters and five brothers.

Her father was a Pentecostal Preacher who always greeted everyone with the saying "Praise the Lord." So, she grew up in a very disciplined but loving home, full of faith on the farm. Mary married Ray Scott on May 15, 1954 in Ada Oklahoma. They enjoyed thirty-five years together before Ray passed away on July 20, 1990. Mary was an active member of the First Baptist Church for over fifty years. She was a member of the Charity Sunday School Class and she enjoyed helping others in need. Mary enjoyed working and meeting people in the medical field; she worked with Dr. Eaton as his assistant for ten years, then worked for the Hillcrest Clinic for twelve years as a receptionist and bookkeeper. Before retiring, she worked an additional ten years with Dr. J.C. Parmer as a receptionist.

Mary is survived by two children Brenda Reynolds and husband Mark of Vernon, Texas and Greg Scott and wife Lisa of Grapevine, Texas. Mary was blessed with three grandchildren Carson Burrus and wife Lauren, Ryan Burrus and wife Jordan, and Mary Ellen Britt and husband Matt, along with three great grandchildren; Finley, Briggs and Lane Burrus. Mary also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband Ray, her parents Luther and Mary Chilcoat, and her nine brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held Monday at 10:00am until services time at Sullivan Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to a favorite charity.
