Mary Isabel Sheridan Groth, 74 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 15, 2024, at 4:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Mike Sheridan officiating.

Mary was born Thursday, October 26, 1950, in Sweetwater, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Ney Sheridan, Jr. and the late Isabel Virginia Warren Sheridan. She married Darrol Groth on May 12, 1979, in Vernon, Texas. She retired as a Civil Engineer Technician with the Highway Department. She loved children and tutored  for the high school. She was very involved with the Vernon Boys & Girls Club where she served on the board and tutored math. Above all, Mary cherished her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a doting grandmother. Her home was a haven of warmth and laughter, where everyone felt welcomed and loved. She possessed a maternal spirit that extended beyond her immediate family, nurturing and caring for all who entered her life. Her beautiful smile and gentle nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mary is survived by her husband Darrol Groth of the home; three daughters, Melissa Hartig & husband David of Elgin, Texas, Laura Wood & husband Hunter of Chico, Texas and Annie Gilot & husband Max of Vernon, Texas, and five grandchildren, Molly Hartig, Isabel Wood, Elise Wood, Claire Gilot, and Noelle Gilot. Mary also leaves behind four brothers, Bill Sheridan & wife Sheri of Houston, Texas, Mike Sheridan & wife Linda of Boerne, Texas, Richard Sheridan of Vernon, Texas and Robert Sheridan & wife Cecilia of Hampton Bays, New York; two sisters, Laura Sheridan and Nona Sheridan both of New Orleans, Louisiana, and her nieces and nephews, Amy Sheridan of Austin, Texas, Kristin Butler of New Braunfels, Texas, Ney Sheridan of Ashville, North Carolina, Mikey Sipos of New Orleans, Louisiana, Phillip Sipos of New Orleans, Louisiana, Robert Albritton of New Orleans, Louisiana, Jack Albritton of New Orleans, Louisiana, Christina Sheridan of Austin, Texas, Jack Sheridan, Kevin Sheridan, and Isabel Sheridan.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Ney & Isabel Sheridan, her brother, Joe Sheridan, and her nephew, Breaker Sheridan.

Memorials can be made to the Vernon Boys & Girls Club or the Wilbarger County Humane Society.
