Mary Ann passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 10:00 am at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gib Baskerville and Mr. Mike Klappenbach officiating. Burial will be at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Mary Ann was born in Elliott, Texas on December 31, 1937 to the late Sophie Mary (Bildstein) Lucas and the late Henry Davis Lucas. She was the seventh child of nine children.

Mary Ann attended Oklaunion School, Vernon Regional Junior College, and Midwestern University. She married Nelson W. Warden on November 12, 1955 at Bethel Baptist Church in Elliott, Texas. They were married for sixty eight years.

Mary Ann loved her job at Central Elementary in Vernon for twenty two years, all in the music department. It was a fun time job and she loved the children in kindergarten, first, second and third graders. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Elliott through 1971, having taught children's classes, adults, and Bible School. She was the Training Union Director. In 1972 the family became members of First Baptist Church in Vernon. She was a member of the Charity Class where she also taught Sunday School and helped in the nursery.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Nelson Warden of the home, two daughters, Keta Jolly of Vernon, Texas and Teri Williams of Vernon, Texas, seven grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by two sons, Mike Warden and Donnie Warden, grandson, Kameron Hooker, five brothers, and three sisters.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Sullivan Funeral Home from 9:00 am until services begin.
