Melba Ann Gower, 90 of Vernon, Texas died on Sunday, September 11, 2022, in Vernon, Texas.

Services will be Thursday, September 15, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Danny McMahen officiating. Interment will be held at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Ann was born Sunday, October 25, 1931 in Tipton, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Pratt Parks and the late Carmen Thomas  Parks. She married Bob Gower on August 7, 1951 in Vallejo, CA., he preceded her in death on March 12, 1994. She retired from Vernon State Hospital South after working with the youth for twenty-five years. Ann loved to bake especially  chocolate chip cookies and pecan pies.  Her quote was "I might be left-handed but I'm always right."  Ann was a member of First Baptist Church and she was a homemaker.

Ann is survived by her son, David Gower and wife Janet of Vernon, TX. her grandsons Brandon Gower of Vernon, Texas, Cory Gower and wife Starla of Vernon, Texas, and Cody Gower of Vernon, Texas. her great grandchildren, Baylea Gillespie and husband Blaine, Luke Gower, Tristan Gower, Natalie Gower and a great-great granddaughter Birdie Gillespie.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bob Gower and her son Darrell Gower in 2014, and her infant daughter Tina Diane Gower in 1959.

Visitation will be Thursday at 1:00 pm till service time at Sullivan Funeral Home.
