Michael Lee Owens, 54 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.

Michael was born Friday, June 5, 1970, in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late Don Owens and Billie Tullis Owens. He married Wilma Shepherd on July 26, 2002 in Vernon, Texas. He loved music and playing the guitar and the piano. Michael was a kind and generous person. He had a great sense of humor and was a joker. His family meant everything to him. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Michael is survived by his wife, Wilma Owens of the home; mother, Billie Owens of Altus, Oklahoma; children, Tyler Owens of Altus, Oklahoma, and Kaylee Rangel & husband Andrew of Hobart, Oklahoma; grandchild, Archer Rangel; three brothers, Donnie Owens & wife Katherine of Wisconsin, Steven Owens & wife Bobbie of Yukon, Oklahoma, and Cody Owens & wife Rachael of Altus, Oklahoma, and sisters-in-law, LaDonna Tubbs & husband Willie, and Tracie Shepherd. Michael also leaves behind his nieces, Ashanti Tubbs, Vatanie Tubbs, Taylor Owens, Payton Owens, Kayden Owens, Pamela Owens, Laura Owens, Morgan Higgins, and Madison Paxton; his nephews, Donnie Owens, Tanner Owens, Blair Owens, A.J. Owens, and Bryce Paxton, and his father-in law and best friend, Wilmer Shepherd.

Michael is preceded in death by his father, Don Owens.
