Monika Thompson, 77 of Vernon, Texas died on Friday, November 3, 2023, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 10:00 am at Faith Methodist Church with Rev. Matt Brown and Rev. Terry Tamplen officiating.  Burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Monika was born Sunday, November 4, 1945, in Hessental, Germany. She was the daughter of the late Alfons Kurz and the late Karoline Kurz. She married Gordon Thompson on December 12, 1964, in Hessental, Germany, and then came to America in 1966. She was a member of Faith Methodist Church for over forty years where she served on numerous committees.  She really enjoyed the Happy Huggers.

Monika is survived by her family, Ronnie & Betty Thompson, Janna Thompson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Monika is preceded in death by her parents, Alfons & Karoline Kurz; her husband, Gordon Thompson on December 17, 2017, and her siblings, Alfons Kurz, Hermann Kurz, Robert Kurz, and Elfriede Kurz.

Visitation will be Monday, November 6, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to Faith Methodist Church in Vernon, Texas or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
