Mykal James Luis Ponciano, (Mykk/Mykee), 20 of Vernon, Texas went to be with our Heavenly Father on Monday, October 6, 2025, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Donovan Wilkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Mykal was born Sunday, January 9, 2005, in Lubbock, Texas. He was the son of James Ponciano and Lori Flores. Mykal was a Baptist.

Mykal enjoyed hanging out with family and friends. He loved to joke around and enjoyed making people laugh. He was a hard worker and when he wasn't working, he liked to play video games and listen to music. He was that "once a friend, always a friend" kind of soul and his hugs were like magic, that could make anyone smile on their worst day.

Mykal is survived by his dad, James Ponciano from Odessa, TX, one sister, Ry'ana Ponciano from Vernon, TX, grandparents, J.R. Ritter and Glenda Downes from Vernon, TX, Luis Flores, Sr. from Wichita Falls, TX, James Ponciano, Sr. from Lubbock, TX, and Antonio Thompson from Odessa, TX. He has numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends that loved him dearly, and a very close friend who was like a brother to him, Matthew Keck & his wife Kyra Ebert and their two children who Mykal adored.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lori Beth Flores, two uncles, Samuel and Ryan Flores, and a grandparent, Kurt Thompson.

Visitation will be Monday, October 13, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
