Nelson Earl Baker, 75 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Curtis Rutledge officiating.  Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Nelson was born Monday, August 30, 1948, in Vernon, Texas. He was the son of the late Nelson H.  Baker and the late Emma Lahue Bell. He was the husband of Debra Baker.  Nelson was a truck driver for over twenty-eight years. He was in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971, serving in Vietnam in the 5th U.S. Army Artillery.  He was a member of the Patriot Guard.

Nelson is survived by his wife, Debra Baker of Vernon, Texas; one son, Tony Baker of Vernon, Texas; two daughters, Terri Gonzales & husband Pete of Rockport, Texas and Trina Nava & husband Joey of Wichita Falls, Texas; one sister, Sue Adams of Vernon, Texas; one aunt, Ramona Lehue of Elliott, Texas.  Nelson also leaves behind seven grandchildren, Pete, Tevin, Brandon, Kaylon, Chelsea, Justin, and Evelyn; nine great grandchildren, Alyssa, Pete IV, Alexis, Eli, Emma, Evan, Addison, LeLe, and Jaylen, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his #1 baby mama, Brenda Romero.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 21, 2023, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
