Nicky Charles Baker, 74 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 6, 2023 at 10:00 am at Western Trail Cowboy Church with Rev. Luke Morrison and Rev. Jo Mac Petit officiating. Burial will follow at Eastview Cemetery under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Nicky was born Monday, December 27, 1948 in Vernon, Texas. He was the son of the late Joe Charlie Baker and the late Thelma Florence Ming Baker. He married Rita Joyce Greenway on April 30, 1984 in Vernon, Texas. Nicky served in the Texas National Guard for eight years. He retired after forty-four years of working as a welder for W. T. Waggoner Estate. Nicky enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Western Trail Cowboy Church.

Nicky is survived by his wife, Rita Baker of the home; daughter, Melanie Chilton of Vernon, Texas; sons, Shane Baker of Claremore, Oklahoma and Chris Baker of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; step son, Michael Baum of Wichita Falls, Texas; sister, Shelly Mason of Vernon, Texas. Nicky also leaves behind eleven grandchildren.

Nicky is preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Baker in August of 2022.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 5, 2023, from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
