Obituary

Norman Woodrow Brints, 84 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church with Dr. Derrell Monday and Mr. Mike Klappenbach officiating.  Burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Norman was born Friday, April 21, 1939, in O'Donnell, Texas. He was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Brints and the late Stella Fay Bingham Brints. He married Sydney Carole Slack  June 17, 1960, in Perryton, Texas.

Norman moved to Floydada, Texas at the age of four where the family was involved in Farming before moving to Crosbyton where he graduated from High School in 1957. He attended Texas Tech University and University of Arkansas and received a B.S. and M.S. degrees in Agricultural Economics. After graduation he moved to Vernon in 1964 as one of the first employees with the Texas A & M University Research Center. He worked as an Areas Economist for Texas A & M for seventeen years before starting Brints Bookkeeping & Tax Service, Inc. which still exist as a family business. Norman was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Vernon Texas. He was also a  member of the Board of Trustees of Vernon College, Vernon Lions Club, Vernon Boys & Girls Club Board, Business Development Board, Vernon School Board, past President of the Chamber of Commerce, National Society of Enrolled Agents, and a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals. He loved his church, his family, and community, dedicating his time to making things better for everyone.

Norman is survived by his wife, Sydney Brints of the home; his brother, Calvin Brints of Lubbock, Texas, and his three sons, Clint Brints & wife Dianna, Chad Brints & wife Adrian, and Ky Brints & wife Rhonda, all of Vernon, Texas. Norman also leaves behind six grandchildren, Kyle, Brandon, Tyler, Cali, Caitlin, and Kyler, and four great grandchildren.
