Odis D. Fobbs, 66 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, in Vernon, Texas. A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday May 23, 2026, at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel located at 1801 Houston St. Vernon, Texas 76384. with Rev Norris Thomas officiating, burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park, Vernon, TX. under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Odis was born Sunday, August 2, 1959, in Chillicothe, Texas, he was the son of the late Joe Fobbs and the late Mattie Wilson Fobbs. Odis retired as a PNA, from the Vernon State Hospital.

Odis is survived by his wife Sherrie of the home, one daughter LaNell Faulk (Deforest), of Ft. Worth, Texas, and one son Sport Fobbs, of Vernon.

His grandchildren include Ace Edmonds, Noah Edmonds, D’Tyree Faulk and more. Great grandchildren are Armanni Edmonds, Charlie Edmonds and Alahnni Edmonds. Odis’ surviving siblings include Reva Givens (Larry) of Midland, Texas, Tracy Fobbs of Crowell, Texas, and Lorene Williams (Roger) of Newport News, Virginia, Howard Calloway of Terrell, Texas, Freeman Earl Fobbs (Veronica) of Olney, Texas, Steve Fobbs of Dallas, Texas, Vivian Carroll (Charles) of Dallas, Tx., Sandra Brewster (Jerome) of Lil Elm, Tx., Terese Fobbs of Carrollton, Texas, Angela Givens of Dallas, Texas, Tongula Steddum (Chris) of Dallas, Texas. Odis also leaves behind a host of aunts and uncles as well as nieces and nephews and cousins and friends.

Odis was preceded in death by his beloved parents Freeman and Mattie Hart and his father Joe Fobbs; Sisters Ora Faye Hart and Atlene Fobbs-Moore. Brothers Joe Eddie Fobbs, Joseph Fobbs, Hoarce Fobbs, Cleo Fobbs and Vernell Fobbs. Granddaughter Sierra Edmonds and Grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Sport Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fobbs.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Sullivan Funeral Home, 1801 Houston St., Vernon, Texas.
