Patsy Tucker Dowty, 75 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, in Brownfield, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church of Vernon, Texas, with Rev. Chris Tucker and Dr. Derrell Monday officiating. Burial will follow at Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Patsy was born Monday, October 31, 1949, in Quanah, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Goldwyn Geral Tucker and the late Helen Barnett Tucker. She married Edgar Lee Dowty on June 23, 1995, in Abernathy, Texas. Patsy retired after forty-two years as a schoolteacher. She taught at Chillicothe ISD, Abernathy ISD, and Vernon ISD. She was also a caretaker. She was a member of the Texas Retired Teachers Association and the First Baptist Church of Vernon where she played the piano.

Patsy is survived by two brothers, Ray Tucker & wife Donna of Brownfield, Texas and Lee Tucker & wife Judy of Jourdanton, Texas, and her nieces and nephews, Chris Tucker & wife Sandy and their children, Carson & Justus of Quitaque, Texas, Cody Tucker & wife Kendra and their children, Clayton & Kade of Big Spring, Texas, Kelly Tucker & wife Pauline of Lubbock, Texas, Jason Tucker & wife Cynthia and their children, Cryslan, Chase, & Cooper of White Oak, Texas, Amber Wiemann & husband Bill and their children, Lexi & Whitney of Austin, Texas, and Karen Schorsch & husband Josiah and their children, Emmett, Garrett, & Madeline of Jourdanton, Texas.

Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, Goldwyn & Helen Tucker, and her husband Edgar Dowty.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to the missions fund at First Baptist Church of Vernon, Texas.
