Paula Jean Smith, 67 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2023, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at a later date.

Paula was born Thursday, December 1, 1955 in El Paso, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Richard Blankenship and the late Margaret Martin Blankenship.

Paula is survived by her son, Christopher Smith & wife Katy of Vernon, Texas; two daughters, Barbara Piatt of Vernon, Texas, and Laura Beth Nino of Vernon, Texas; her adopted son, Zavier Mata of Vernon, Texas, and two sisters, Mary Rayos of Austin, Texas and Susan Haynes of Navada. Paula also leaves behind several grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Paula is preceded in death by her parents, grandmother, her uncle, Richard, and her brothers, Richard, Bruce, and Ronnie.
