Starts at 11:00 am (Central time)
Our very dear and loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother, Pauline Elizabeth Rallis Moore, has been called home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 26, 2026, at 11:00 am at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Derrell Monday and Dr. Martin Knox officiating. Interment will follow at Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Pauline was born on August 5, 1926, in Vernon. Her family later moved to Athens, where she attended high school and continued her education at Athens Junior College. On June 25, 1948, she married the love of her life, Fred Henry Moore, and they moved to Quanah, which they proudly called home for many years. In November 1949, they welcomed their only daughter, Sherry Rebecca Moore Crownover.
In 1952, Pauline began working for Hardeman County in the tax collection office. She faithfully dedicated 36 years of service to the people of Hardeman County. During her career, she ran unopposed in six elections for Hardeman County Tax Assessor, a role she carried out with pride and integrity. She was fondly known as the “friendly tax assessor,” a title that reflected her warm spirit and genuine care for others.
After her retirement, Pauline and Fred cherished their time traveling with friends in their trailer, creating lasting memories along the way. They especially enjoyed spending a month each winter in South Padre Island, escaping the cold of North Texas and soaking up the coastal sunshine.
Pauline immensely enjoyed crocheting and did so throughout her entire life. Her beautifully crocheted clothes hangers became her trademark — lovingly made and generously shared with family and friends, each one a small reflection of her patience and creativity.
Following Fred’s passing in 1985, Pauline moved back to Vernon to be near her brothers. In 2018, she relocated to Granbury, where she lived independently at Waterview The Point. During her time there, she formed many cherished friendships and continued to share her warm smile and kind spirit with those around her.
Pauline was a lifelong and faithful member of First Baptist Church of Quanah, where her love for her Savior and her church family was evident throughout the years. She was also a devoted member of the Thursday Needle Club of Quanah, where she enjoyed fellowship, friendship, and sharing her love of needlework with others.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Mary Pevoda Rallis; her beloved husband, Fred Henry Moore; her brothers, George and Robert Lee Rallis; and her son-in-law, Larry Samuel Crownover.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted daughter, Sherry; granddaughters, Rebecca Elizabeth (Keith) Hering and Stacey Lois (Michael) Hudson; and grandson, Cody Samuel Crownover. She was blessed with ten great-grandchildren: Haylee and Braden Hering; Macie Hudson Tharp (Dalton); Madison Hudson; Karlie Hudson; Kyle (Olivia) Hudson; and Keaton, Kate, Cash, and Cade Crownover. She was also the proud great-great-grandmother of Kabrie Jo Tharp and Kamryn Hudson.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
