Peggy Jean Adams Hoke, age 86, passed away on Monday, May 4th, 2026, in Vernon, Texas.

Peggy was born on Saturday, March 9th, 1940, in Vernon, Texas. She was born the 3rd child of 13 children, of the late Lewis Willard Adams and Doris Marie Henson Adams. She married Robert Bruce Hoke, at the age of 17, in Bowie, Texas. They started their lives together in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, and eventually settled in California. They had four children together. Peggy enjoyed singing, gardening, cooking, and being a loving mother and wife. Later, she worked as a line inspector for General Foods in California. She returned to her hometown of Vernon, Texas in 2017.

Peggy is survived by her children, Lynn Petz and husband Leroy Petz of Florida, Richard Hoke and wife Isabel of California, Robert Hoke of California, her brothers, Gary Adams and Randy Adams, both of Vernon, Texas and her sister, Rita Hopper of Vernon, Texas. Peggy also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bruce Hoke, her son, David Hoke, her brothers, Layton “Bud” Adams, Bob Adams, John Adams, Tony Adams and Ricky Adams, and her sisters, Joyce Gant, Wanda Fennell, Sherry Parker and Linda McPeak.
