Penny Chisholm Church, 76 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023, in Vernon, Texas.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 3, 2023 at 10:00am at the Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Chris Norcross officiating. Burial will follow at the Wilbarger Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Penny was born Thursday, March 13, 1947 in Pampa, Texas, to the late Howard Chisholm and the late Betty Martin Chisholm. Penny and her family moved back to their hometown Vernon in 1952, where she attended Vernon schools, graduating with the Class of 1965 at Vernon High School. After high school Penny attended Ft. Worth Christian College. In 1968 Penny began working for the Social Security Administration Office in Albuquerque New Mexico. In 1976 Penny moved back to Vernon and worked at the Vernon State Hospital in the Human Resources Department until her retirement. Penny loved the Lord and her family very much. Penny always put the need of others before her own. Penny was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, recently becoming a member at the Lockett Highway Church of Christ.
Penny is survived by two sons, Ted McGann of Vernon, TX and James Church and wife Lindsey of New Braunfels, TX, one daughter, Kristin Page and husband Spencer of Fort Worth, TX, one brother, Mark Chisholm of Breckenridge, TX. Penny also leaves behind six grandchildren, Cody Church, McKenzie Church, Tanner Church, Andrew Church, Caitlyn Noe and Adelyn Page along with her sister-in-law Paula Chisholm and her nephews, Shawn Chisholm, Daryl Chisholm and Bryan Chisholm.
Penny is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Betty Chisholm and one brother Tim Chisholm, who passed away in 2011
Visitation will be held Monday from 6-8pm at Sullivan Funeral Home.
Memorials can be made to the Lockett Highway Church of Christ.
