Pete "Uncle Pete "Gomez, 62 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, in Vernon, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Friday January 23,2026 at 2:00pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Pete was born Saturday, February 23, 1963, in Chillicothe, Texas, to the late John Gomez and the late Simona Moreno Gomez. Pete attended Quanah High School. Pete worked for Rhodia for twenty-three years. Everyone at work knew him as "Uncle Pete". Pete never met a stranger; he was always a friendly guy. He loved Harley Davidson, Classic Rock, Denver Broncos, going to the casino, Bald Eagles, "Jaws", WWE, but most of all he loved and adored his grandchildren.

Pete leaves behind his children, Manuel Gomez and wife Priscilla, Victoria Armstrong and husband Clint, and Samantha Camacho and husband Corey, all of Vernon Texas. Pete also leaves behind his grandchildren, Jesika, Jazlynn, Isiah, William, Natalynn, Lee, Zailey, Xavier, Debbie, Ben and Audrey. Pete leaves behind two sisters, Margaret Villanueva and Ruth Florez and one brother Robert Gomez, along with his significant other Belinda Heidelberg, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pete is preceded in death by his parents John and Simona Gomez, seven siblings, one son Pedro Tony Gomez, and his late wife Debra Lujan Gomez.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8pm at Sullivan Funeral Home
