Preston Lee Cary, 77 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022, in Wichita Falls, Texas.

A memorial service will be held at a later date

Preston was born Sunday, December 17, 1944 in Vernon, Texas. He was the son of the late Frances Allen "Jack" Cary and the late Wilma Skelton  Cary. Preston married Paula Rogers on February 10, 1968 in Vernon, Texas. He served in the US Navy for three years. Preston was the owner and operator of Preston Cary Paint Contractor. Preston's passion was Vernon History he collected Vernon history artifacts for over 40 years and opened and was the curator of The Wilbarger County Historical Museum. The museum opened on Roy Orbison's birthday, April 23, 2015. Preston's collection of Wilbarger County Historical Artifacts was massive and he displayed them proudly he was always available to give tours of the museum.

Preston leaves behind his wife Paula Cary of the home, his two sons, Mark Cary of Port Aransas, TX and Nick Cary of Vernon, TX, brother, David Cary of Vernon, TX, sister, Jackie Diggs of Margaret, TX. Preston also leaves behind two grandchildren Kamryn Cary of Vernon, Texas and Jon "Jac" Cary of Burleson, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roy Cary.
