Rafaela Meza, 90 of Quanah, Texas passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024,in Crowell, Texas.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 9, 2024 at 10:00am at the Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church of Vernon with Father Phil Petta officiating. Burial will follow at the Quanah Memorial Park under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.

Rafaela was born Tuesday, October 24, 1933 in El Arenal Durango, Mexico, to the late Niconor Marquez and the late Herlinda Burciaga Marquez. Rafaela married Filemon Meza, Sr. on December 31, 1949 in Durango, Mexico. He passed away in 2020. Rafaela was a very loving mother; she was always making sure all the kids were taken care of. She loved to sew and cook for her family and her church. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Quanah.

Rafaela is survived by her children , Carmen Cabello and husband Felipe of Vernon, TX., Jesus Meza and wife Ramona of Vernon, TX, Jose Luis Meza and wife Maria Teresa of Quanah, TX., Francisca Quinonez and husband Gerardo of Durango, Mexico, Alicia Saucedo and husband Gilberto of Vernon TX and Filemon Meza, Jr. and wife Herminia of Quanah, TX, Janie Robles and husband Alfredo of Vernon, TX. Susie Ortiz and husband Abundio of Quanah, TX. Socorro Vargas and husband Roger  of Vernon, TX, Linda De La Pena  and husband Juan of Crowell, TX. Along with forty-four grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren and numerus great great grandchildren.

Rafaela is preceded in death by her husband Filemon Meza, Sr. One son Ernesto Meza and three sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be held Monday July 8, 2024 from 6-8pm at Sullivan Funeral Home Chapel.
