Obituary

Raymond Lee Carpenter, Jr., 52 of Vernon, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, in Vernon, Texas.

Raymond was born Tuesday, December 28, 1971, in Durango, Colorado. He was the son of Raymond Lee Carpenter and Cynthia Dale Rice Beard. He married Nikki Radosevich. He was very passionate about hunting and fishing. He loved to take walks with his dog Lacy for miles up and down the river. He worked very hard to keep his land ready for hunting season by feeding deer and other animals. He was also passionate about regenerative agriculture. His goal was to get native grasses and plants to thrive on his land like they used to. Raymond's favorite thing in life was his granddaughter, Raelynn. He loved taking her to check and feed the cows, horses, pigs, and chickens. He also loved to take her fishing and just let her experience the outdoors. He was a very hard-working man. He grew up in New Mexico and Colorado, and he loved the mountains. He loved to go camping, hunting, and enjoying time with his sons, Darren and Daniel, his nephew, Matthew Lenocker, and his cousin, Josh Kerrigan. He also loved hanging out with his nephews, Nicholas and Matthew Donaghy. While raising his sons, Raymond taught his boys the importance of working hard, and because of his teachings, they both now have successful careers. Darren is a plant operator and Daniel welds in refineries and other types of plants. Raymond's best friend was his wife, Nikki. She was a huge part of his life, doing everything together. They worked as a team while truck driving, and they loved to go fishing and hunting together.

Raymond is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Nikki Radosevich of the home; two sons, Daniel Carpenter & wife Payton of Crowell, Texas, and Darren Carpenter of Vernon, Texas; one granddaughter, Raelynn Carpenter; his father, Raymond Carpenter & wife Janice of Vernon, Texas; his mother, Cynthia Beard of Aztec, New Mexico, and one sister, Margaret Templeton of Aztec, New Mexico.
